The International School of Panama was founded in 1982. It is a private co-educational, non-profit school that provides educational services in English for students from Pre Kindergarten through Grade Twelve. ISP is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school has authorization to use the IB Diploma program. ISP has a 182-day student calendar.
There are almost 1,000 students representing over 40 nationalities. Panamanians account for about 30% of the school population with 24% American citizens and 14% Korean citizens. The school attempts to keep a balance between Panamanian students and international students in order to maintain the international nature of the school. ISP has 93 teachers that represent over 10 nationalities. Many of the teachers have advanced degrees.

Facilities
ISP is located in the suburbs of Panama City. The school has over 6,000 square meters of buildings, 2,900 square meters of covered athletic courts, and 3,200 square meters of paved parking. There are 60 large, air-conditioned classrooms. The library has over 14,000 volumes. Other facilities include playground areas, a track and field, a gym 2 music rooms, 3 science labs, 3 art rooms, 2 soccer fields and a cafeteria/auditorium.
Curriculum
ISP offers students a challenging, academic curriculum for expats and local students. Instruction is in English except for the Spanish language requirements for students pursuing a Panamanian diploma. Students in the years 11 and 12 may choose to take the IB Diploma program, a U.S. High school diploma and/or a Panamanian diploma. ESL services are provided for students that need help with the English language.
Extra-curricular Activities
The school offers a range of extra-curricular activities in sports, arts, and other areas. Senior students can compete in the northeastern European league in soccer, track and field, basketball, tennis, swimming, softball and volleyball.
ISP is wired for high-speed connections with all classrooms connected to the school’s network. Each classroom has at least one networked computer. There are three labs on campus with 25 computers in each lab. The libraries are connected and all volumes in the library are accessible online. The school also has a wireless network for most of the campus.
