The British School, New Delhi is an independent, non-profit, co-educational day school for students from the ages of 3 though 18. TBS was founded in 1963. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools and is an IB World School with authorization to use the IB Diploma Programme. TBS has approximately 700 students that represent 50 nationalities.

Facilities
The school has a six acre campus with 2 air-conditioned buildings. Both the Secondary School and the Nursery School are on the main campus, while the Primary School is located in another building just outside campus. Facilities include playing fields, 2 libraries, music rooms, art rooms, drama rooms, computer labs, 4 science labs, an amphitheater, a health room, a cafeteria, language and learning support rooms, well-equipped classrooms and a playground. The school is preparing for an ambitious building project that should take place over the next few years.
Curriculum
TBS offers the National Curriculum of England to students from the Foundation Stage through Year 9. This curriculum includes the core subjects (Math, Science and English), ICT, Physical Education, Geography, History, Modern Foreign Languages and Aesthetic and Performing Arts. The curriculum is available for downloading. Students in Year 10 and Year 11take the IGCSE, while students in Year 12 and 13 take the IB Diploma. The British School has a special educational needs program, as well as an English as an Additional Language program. Students who are planning on attending universities in the United States can take the PSAT and the SAT.
Extracurricular Activities
The British School has an after school program for students in Year Groups 7 to 10. Activities include taekwondo, tabla, jazz, chess, cricket, and more. According to the school report, they are planning on developing their after school program in the near future so that it meets the best international practices.
Technology
In addition to ICT labs, TBS has ActivBoards in the classrooms. The campus has Wi-Fi access and mobile laptop carts. Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum.
Professional Development
The school has been providing professional development opportunities for their national staff of Teaching Assistants in order to help them develop their skills. The British School also provides regular PD activities for its IB teachers, as well as other teaching staff. These activities take place in local and international venues.
