About Lyon
Lyon is a city situated between Paris and Marseille. It has close to half a million residents and is the second largest metropolitan area in France. The city is known for its architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also considered by some to be the center of gastronomy in France.Lyon has a relatively cool climate with average temperatures in January of 3.2° C and 27°C in July. Among the points of interest are the Roman ruins like the Amphitheater of the Three Gauls, Medieval churches like the Cathedral of St. John, and the city’s many museums such as the Gall-Roman Museum. One of my favorite Roman emperors, Claudius, was a resident of the city. Lyon has many excellent restaurants and an active nightlife.
